Mouse Exterminator Melbourne
Mice keep coming back for a reason: the holes they use are still open. Most mouse treatments put bait down and leave. We exterminate the mice and block the internal holes they’re using to get into your living areas on the same visit, then show you exactly where they’re getting in from outside. That’s why our mice treatment comes with a 5-year guarantee once the recommended entry points are blocked.
Before You Compare Pest Control Companies, Ask 3 Simple Questions
- “Are you going to stop the mice from running around inside my home as part of your service?” If the answer is no, mice can keep moving through your walls and cupboards even after treatment.
- “How long do you guarantee your service for?” Ours is 5 years once the entry points are blocked. If a company’s guarantee is much shorter, ask why they’re less confident in the result.
- “How long does your treatment take?” Ours takes a minimum of 1.5 hours. If a treatment is done in 20–30 minutes, ask how much time was spent working out why the mice are there in the first place.
After all, the main reason you call a rodent specialist is to stop mice living and moving around inside your home.
What’s Included: Exterminate, Identify, Block, Protect
- ✔ Professional mice extermination: professional-grade rodenticide installed inside wall cavities and secured roof void bait stations, away from people, children and pets. These aren’t supermarket baits, and we don’t rely on traps.
- ✔ Rodent tracking: we map movement pathways, high-traffic routes, nesting sites and harbourage areas through the home and roof void.
- ✔ Internal entry point investigation: we find the holes, gaps and penetrations mice are using to get into your living areas.
- ✔ Internal blocking on the same visit: once the bait is in place, every internal entry point we find is blocked over, so mice can’t keep moving between the wall cavities and your rooms.
- ✔ Roof void inspection.
- ✔ External entry point identification: photographed and documented, with clear guidance on what needs proofing.
- ✔ 5-year guarantee once the recommended external entry points are blocked, or a 3-month guarantee if you choose not to block them. Subject to our guarantee terms.
Sealing the Outside: Do It Yourself or Have Us Do It
Once the inside is treated and blocked, the external entry points are the last step. You choose:
- Do it yourself, or use your own tradesperson: using our photos and notes. It’s usually straightforward.
- Have Zeropest do it: we complete the external proofing for an additional fee. See rodent entry point blocking.
External blocking is best done about 14 days after treatment. That gives the mice time to eat the bait, leave the building and die away from your home, rather than being sealed inside.
Why Bait Alone Doesn’t Work
Bait might get rid of the mice you have today. But if the entry points stay open, new mice move in to replace them, and you’re back where you started. That’s not pest control. That’s a cycle. Our approach is to exterminate, identify, block and protect, so the problem is fixed, not just managed. Read more about how we get rid of rats and mice.
Frequently Asked Questions
How long does a mice treatment take?
A minimum of 1.5 hours. That time goes into tracking where the mice are travelling, installing bait in the right places and blocking the internal entry points.
Do you use traps?
No. Traps aren’t our main method. We install professional-grade rodenticide inside wall cavities and secured roof void stations, away from people and pets, then block the internal holes.
Is it safe for my kids and pets?
Bait is placed inside wall cavities and secured roof void stations, not in your living areas, so children and pets can’t get to it.
Will I smell dead mice?
Blocking the outside is timed for around 14 days after treatment, so the mice can leave the building before entry points are sealed. Occasionally a mouse dies in a cavity. If that happens, let us know and we’ll advise.
What does the 5-year guarantee cover?
Once the recommended external entry points are blocked (by you, your tradesperson or us), you’re covered by our 5-year guarantee. If you choose not to block them, you get a 3-month guarantee. If mice come back within the guarantee period, we come back, subject to our guarantee terms. Full details are on our guarantees page.
